Those pants!

Pants: River island , another nice one here || Top: similar here, here || Purse: warehouse, similar here || Necklace: Zara || Watch: Marc jacobs

The beauty that is these pants! these pictures do it no justice. I'm sorry for the time off again, as usual, but thank you for always sticking around. I  can finally afford the consistency pill, but i will still need your prayers to make sure i remember to take it lol. But honestly, i have missed doing this and i'm very happy to be back. What have i missed? x

P.s- these pants are on sale in river island now, you're lucky you can bag that bargain i never got.

Let's get philosophical..
I've been catching up on the TV show- suits lately (talk about being late to the party) and i'm currently at the end of season four. You know that part where louise is angry at himself, everyone and everything, yeah, that's where am at. It's interesting how irrational people can get when they are sad, discouraged or failed. It makes me have a lot of respect for people who have attained some form of emotional maturity and understand when to express anger, how to express it and to whom. And most importantly, people who can let things go truly and honestly. How far can one live without this really.

Shakara 101

Hey beautiful people,
It's been way too long. Will yet another apology make me sound like a broken record?
Not if it's with some goodies this time, i heard.

As it's no news that genuinely good human weaves are expensive, it's also no news that the really cheap/affordable ones are usually no good either. I don't know about you, but i'm usually not up for experimenting with a large chunk of my money too. It becomes easy to understand the joy when good suppliers with superb hair sell at remarkable prices. And that's exactly what "Shakara 101" does. They  have all types of human weaves, (Peruvian, Brazilian, bohemian etc) lengths & styles for you beautiful ladies. I was excited when i was approached to do this because i usually get asked about good suppliers of hair. Try them and you won't be disappointed. When you do try them, remember to say you heard about them here, who knows, that may/may not bag you a discount ;) lol

Arnold

Hey hey,
Guess who we're having again?
You guessed right, Arnold!

Remember him from the previous post here
Very easy to work with, natural poser, get's his outfit right, photo-shoots like this are pure bliss.
With regards the outfit, the cap makes it semi-formal. Speaking of which, i couldn't stand that cap on anyone before now and i honestly wouldn't have been able to style it without it looking awful. Very few times i've seen people pull it off nicely, of which this is one. Like i always insist, you have to know what works for you irrespective of fashion trends.

Pink Fever

Crop top: prettylittlething, similar here, here and i really like this || Trousers: River Island, similar here ||sunglasses: David's ||

*I have the coolest photographer, halfway through the shoot he was like "i think you should wear my sunglasses, they perfectly match your loop earrings" and the pictures turned out even better with them. The little attention to detail/thoughtful things that make me happy.

P.s - This top was a present from my adorable sister, i know you're reading this and i want you to know that i love you to bits :))

I don't have very much to say, i'm just very thankful. In the midst of my fears, anxieties, worries, i am very very thankful. You see, the essence of life is far greater than one, one's aspirations, happiness, hopes & dreams. There is a higher calling of which we inevitably have no control over, and everything, i mean everything, is working and aligning for that good (Jer 29:11). In the midst of whichever stage you're at, be thankful because you will not always be there. Be Hopeful because there is a good expected end awaiting you. Whether you choose to believe it or not.

Please do not ignore.

We all have our individual struggles, challenges, pains and heartbreaks, but what makes life worth living are the people who share their little light and love with us in those down moments. No body has it all, but nobody has too little to be of help to another. We can't help everybody to make it all easy, but we shouldn't undermine our abilities or how far helping just that one person could go.

All i'm trying to say is this, there's a girl, whom i know very personally, her name is Chichi Analogbei. I've met different kinds of people, but very few have left the impression she's left on me. Very kind, high spirited, bubbly, nice, the kind of person anyone would want to be around.

You can imagine how heart breaking it was when she contacted me about the loss of her breadwinner to cancer this year, which has resulted in her inability to continue to fund her education. She was right in her final year at the university of Leeds, and has now had to defer for another year to raise these funds. This is indeed very heartbreaking and no one ever prays for this kind of things.

Please i beg you and urge everyone reading this to please donate, i don't care how little, to this cause. As of today, 26th May at 17:41pm, people as kind as yourself have helped raise £6,140 out of the required £10,500. Please even if it's a fiver (£5) that you'd normally splurge on coffee and cookies in Starbucks. If you can do more, please don't withhold. The Lord who sees your giving in secret would reward you greatly. And on behalf of chichi,  i want to say thank you so much to all the people that i've donated, or shared her Gofundme page so far, only God can bless you the way you deserve. And i pray that none of you would ever suffer losses in Jesus name.

Disclaimer: I don't normally do this, and you can be sure i know and i've met her personally. I have my integrity to protect and i wouldn't make this post if i wasn't sure it was real.

Thank you for your donations.

Floral & the demands of the heart

Before now, I did not particularly fancy warehouse, so it's not a store i found myself going into often. However during the christmas sales, one of my friends literally dragged me in, and it's become a favourite (maybe i exaggerate a little) but at least i pay more attention to it now. The pretty floral dress was one of my purchases that day and as the weather has been a bit more favourable these days, i'm excited i finally get to wear it. It's paired with my staple green heels; of which  my sister has promised to throw away if i keep repeating. I have more shoes than anything else, (the first thing you'd notice if come into my room) but i find myself realistically rotating 3 or 4 pairs.  Anyone else like me? And leather jacket of course, because the weather is unpredictable like that.

Dress: warehouse, similar here||Shoes: Anne Michelle, a nice one here||Sunglasses:Celine

First time without the usual red lips, yay or nay?

Let's get philosophical..
I watched a recent interview with Don Mclean for BBC hard talk which challenged all i ever thought i knew on life satisfaction and success. Nothing, nothing is ever worth losing our loses for. I learnt; when it comes to the deeper demands of the soul, money, beauty, fame and even success has little relevance; insignificant in filling that void. I'm learning to give my heart that reality check as often as possible, examining where it's at at every stage. Lest after years of the pursuit of _ to begin to make statements like "i wish i could re-live life again, i would just get a job that can pay my rent and prioritise my happiness more". Nothing is worth losing our souls for. If this is speaking in parables, i'm sorry i'm only trying not to write too much, please watch the interview. You can always leave your questions and concerns below.

P.s- Thank you Leke & Grace for the really amazing pictures. Please check out their Instagram pages and follow them, they take really good pictures too. Be kind enough to tell them i recommended them ;)

Hello Spring (2)

Whites, pastels, a bit of sunshine, heyy it's officially spring! :))

Top: Zara || Trousers: Warehouse, similar here and here || Shoes: Zara || Necklace here & here || Watch: Marc Jacobs

I'm so impressed by how well the white pants pairs with my subtle multicoloured blouse from Zara.
I can't help but be obsessed with everything Zara. Tad bit expensive in comparison to other high street stores, yes! but for the quality, arguably, similar to high end stores, it's almost a bargain. Think about it.
With the shoes, i know its not everyone's cup of tea (i sound so Patricia bright right now lol) but i love it!! and it's become a staple in my wardrobe.

Let's get philosophical…
I rarely ever give much thought to passing judgments on others because i have one too many specks in my eye that i'm trying to correct. I do loosely throw around the words "hah i've judged you" every now and then but i won't even remember what you did 3 days down the line. Now whats the point of saying all these? During an extensive convo with my Godson (whom i love too dearly btw) he raised the issue of how very often the people we judge already judge & condemn themselves. Sometimes all we need do is listen, care and be that extra help to lift them up.
